NORTH YORKSHIRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY – EGTON MANOR
As a busy North Yorkshire wedding photographer, I get to work at all the best North
Yorkshire wedding venues, and this is certainly the case when I return to be a Egton Manor wedding photographer. Egton Manor is an impressive Grade II historic country house near the village of Egton Bridge on the banks of River Esk in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. It’s set in 6,000 acres of formal and natural gardens, heather moorland, woods, river and pasture. Thechouse was built in 1869 by the Foster family, who’s descendants still live there to this day. Today it’s a country retreat and exclusive use wedding venue. Egton Manor consists of The Manor, complete with a large Drawing Room (licensed to host
wedding ceremonies for up to 50 guests), Garden Hall and the Old Stables. The stables include The Long Gallery which is licensed to host weddings for up to 110 seated guests. When it comes to outdoor ceremonies, you can choose from the terrace, by the river or in the woods. When I capture wedding photography at Egton House, I love woodland weddings. Seeing couples saying ‘I do’ surrounded by their loved ones beneath a a canopy of trees always feels so intimate and magical.

For those looking for a more traditional ceremony, St Heddas Roman Catholic Church is a beautifully ornate church that sits opposite Egton Manor. Or you can choose the Egton Estate’s family church of St Hilda’s. This Church of England church is a handsome building
with lovely stain glass windows and is just a minutes’ drive from the house. Though most couples choose to hold their entire wedding in The Old Stables. These grade II listed stables sit beneath the dovecote. Comprising of The Long Gallery, The Reception
Room the bar and atmospheric Raj Tent. Each space flows freely to the next and for larger weddings for up to 160 guests, the covered courtyard can be set up with an event tent which leads guests out to the lavender gardens.
These spaces are a blank canvas allowing couples to dress them as they wish. Though the rooms are so beautiful they need little adornment. When it comes to food at Egton Manor, they have a handpicked selection of preferred suppliers who specialise in event catering. Experienced in catering at Egton Manor, they offer everything from a 7-course tasting menu to informal sharing platters to hampers on the lawn. Once you’ve chosen your caterers, they’ll work with you to create your perfect bespoke wedding menu. When you book an Egton Manor wedding you’ re automatically offered all of the on-siteaccommodation. Newlyweds often choose to stay in ‘The Lodge’. This charming andluxurious wooden cabin comes with complete privacy in the garden and overlooks the banks of the River Esk. For guests there are rooms in the courtyard and the Manor House that can be booked on a bed and breakfast basis. The Estate’s hotel ‘The Horseshoe’ is a cosy pub with comfortable accommodation and there is a wealth of excellent B&B’s, hotels, pubs and AirBnB accommodation close by.
