bride & groom at golden hour

Northumberland Wedding Photography – The Alnwick Garden

As a busy Northumberland wedding photographer, I get to work at all the best Northumberland wedding venues, and this is certainly the case when I return to be an Alnwick Garden wedding photographer.

This multi-award-winning wedding venue sits in the multi-award-winning Alnwick Gardens. The wedding venue consists of a Garden Pavilion that was designed by Sir Michael Hopkins and has glass walls to make full use of the views over one of the world’s most beautiful gardens. It really is an utterly unique and romantic setting for a wedding.

When I capture wedding photography at Alnwick Garden, I love taking my couples on a romantic photoshoot around each area of the gardens such as the fragrant Rose Garden, the mysterious Bamboo Labyrinth, the Cherry Blossom Orchard, the Ornamental Garden with its pathways adorned with lavender and fruit trees, and even the very grim Poison Garden Gates! Though the best images are always under their famous grand cascade fountain which makes a draw droppingly beautiful backdrop in wedding photos.

And with exclusive use for weddings, when the gates close to visitors, you and your guests have the run of these stunning 12-acre gardens to explore.

Experienced Alnwick Garden wedding photographer

Licensed to hold wedding ceremonies for up to 200 guests in the pavilion, its high ceilings and glass walls throw tons of light into the space (us Northumberland wedding photographers can never have too much natural light!)

The Pavilion can accommodate up to 500 guests for a wedding breakfast and evening celebration, making Alnwick Gardens the perfect wedding venue for large and Asian weddings. And who wouldn’t want to dance the night away under a thousand twinkling fairy lights in the Pavilion Atrium.

Or you can choose to have an outdoor ceremony in their stunning leafy Arbour tunnels surrounded by a lush greenery. A truly Instagram-able setting for a wedding ceremony, the tunnels sit adjacent to the magnificent Grand Cascade fountain. Wedding ceremonies in the Arbour tunnels can accommodate up to 70 seated guests.

If you’re looking for something totally unique why not say ‘I do’ 60 feet off the ground by having an enchanting treehouse wedding in the largest treehouse in the world! The treehouse has three function rooms, one large and two smaller ones. The quirky rustic interiors of twisting branches, fairy lights and a roaring log fire give it a wonderfully cosy and magical vibe.

Storytelling wedding photography at The Alnwick Garden

A large expanse of decking outside allows couples to choose between and indoor ceremony for 65 guests or an outdoor ceremony for up to 85 guests, with room for up to 120 at your evening reception.

Exclusive use means that your guests get to explore the woodland and marvel at the impressive tree house structure whilst enjoying a glass of something fizzy.

I must mention that Alnwick Gardens is a dog friendly wedding venue, so if you can’t imagine getting married without your canine buddy with you, then don’t!

The team at Alnwick Garden really excel themselves when it comes to food. Their team of first-class chefs create amazing wedding food for all types of weddings. You can have a sit down three course meal fine dining experience, or you can have a BBQ in the woods. Choose from elegant canapes or tasty street food. You work with them to create the wedding menu that’s perfect for you. Add to that a bespoke drinks menu that offers champagne, wines, beers and cocktails and you have everything you need for an epic wedding celebration.

There is no guest accommodation at Alnwick Gardens but there are a host of hotels, B&B’s and Airbnb accommodation close by.
